This process effectively increases the bond strength between the steel fibers and the concrete or other matrix materials. Due to this distinctive manufacturing technique, the fibers have anchor-shaped ends, and their surfaces are characterized by one rough side and one smooth side. This surface structure allows the steel fibers to form a strong bond with the cement paste in the concrete, ensuring a robust adhesion between the fibers and the matrix. The bond strength between the fibers and the cement paste can reach 3.52 MPa, which is the fundamental reason behind the improvement in the concrete's performance.

Milled steel fibers exhibit a high ultimate tensile strength of up to 800 MPa, significantly higher than that of ordinary steel fibers. This makes them highly effective in enhancing the concrete's tensile, bending, shear, and impact resistance. The flexural strength impact factor of milled steel fibers reaches 0.62, which is 10%-35% higher than other types of steel fibers, further improving the concrete's durability and load-bearing capacity. The rough surface of the fibers ensures a strong bond with the cement paste in the concrete, with a bonding coefficient of 0.68, which is 20%-50% higher than that of other types of steel fibers. This significantly enhances the concrete's crack resistance, impermeability, and overall durability.

 

Milled steel fibers also demonstrate excellent dispersion within the concrete, ensuring an even distribution throughout the mixture and preventing local fiber aggregation and the formation of voids. This uniform distribution contributes to the overall performance of the concrete, reducing the formation of cracks and enhancing its crack resistance. Additionally, these fibers improve the concrete's impermeability, making it more durable and capable of withstanding prolonged loads and harsh environmental conditions.
